'Welcome to Eco-Club'
Mrs Kirk runs our Eco-Club, it is held every Wednesday during the school day.
Mrs Kirk and Hayley prepare and manage the workshop for the children.
It is a fun and informative way for our children to learn all about their surroundings and what they can do to help our planet!
(If there are any adults out there who have the odd hour to spare and would like to join them,
or our Gardening Club, please contact the school).
'Generation Green' In July 2008 we had an eco-audit at the school, the energy officer reported to Mrs Kirk that "we should be proud of what we have achieved in our school grounds so far, not just for ourselves, but for school children in the future to enjoy as a lasting legacy". Generation Green is an incentive scheme for schools to carry out 'green' tasks within their schools, from appointing light monitors, having 'green' noticeboards and carrying out carbon footprints. Each school has a target of 'leaves' to work towards, leaves being reward points for different tasks. Our Target is 9669 Please help us to achieve our target! by completing an Energy Savers Report and pledging to be more energy efficient, you will reward our school with 100 leaves per report. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes. Once our target is reached we will be able to spend the 'leaves' on rewards such as bike racks, water butts, nestbox cameras, childrens wheelbarrows, wormery, flower press and lots of other great ideas to get the children out and about.
